Both green papaya as well as ripe papaya are low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. It is rich in Vitamins A & Vitamin C, Dietary Fiber, Folate and Potassium. The healthy and nutritional benefits of papaya can be used for maintaining good health and also for weight loss.
Though, this recipe is related to Halwa.................. so it has high sugar and some ghee.
I have substituted sugar with splenda trying to reduce some fattening element and make it healthier.
Ingredients
- 1 medium green papaya
- 5-6 green cardamoms
- 2 tbsp ghee
- sugar acc to taste
- Chopped Nuts
Method
1. Peel the outer skin of papaya.
2. Cut into pieces that can be easily grated.
3. Heat ghee in the pan.
4. Cook the grated papaya on medium heat. Keep stirring.
5. Let it cook until it starts turning golden in color.
6. Now add cardamom powder.
7. Also add sugar.
8. Sugar will make it slight wet so let it cook for next 10-15 min.
9. Garnish with chopped nuts.
10. Serve Warm.
Enjoy....
